Abstract

The moduli space of stable bundles of rank r with a fixed determinant over a smooth projective curve is a Fano manifold with cyclic Picard group. In this talk, we will determine all rational curves of minimal degree on the moduli space and minimal rational curves through generic point . Then we will give some applications of the main theorem. Some recent results about minimal elliptic curves on moduli spaces will be given if time permits.
