Abstract
The basic definitions of modular forms will continue to be introduced. We shall see that a complex torus (a Riemann surface) is related to modular forms through the fact that the equivalence classes of points in H (the upper half plane) under the action of the modular group can be described through the isomorphism classes of complex elliptic curves.
