Abstract

Outer billiards is a basic dynamical system defined relative to a convex shape in the plane. In many cases, the system produces beautiful and mysterious tilings of the plane that are not well understood, and also the dynamics of these systems are not well understood. I will survey some results in this subject, paying particular attention (of course) to my own.
