Abstract
This series of talks explores the relationship between algebraic K-theory and "abstract homotopy theory", or the theory of mapping spaces. The first talk is designed to be accessible to graduate students. It discusses some of the motivation and background as well as some current results and open problems. The remaining talks discuss related topics in more detail.
