Abstract

I hope to use this talk to flesh out and test some ideas I am developing in a more philosophically-tinted paper. As the title makes obvious, I have some feelings about AI use in mathematics that I would like to offer as an entry point into a greater dialogue about the very practice of mathematics. I plan to engage with a 1987 article of Wendell Berry and Tao's recent essay "Mathematics in the Age of AI."
