- Abstract
- We consider a geometric variational problem which models films/foams not as surfaces, but as regions with small but positive volume. In order to explain physical properties of films/foams called Plateau borders, we will present a partial regularity theorem which differs from the classical theory in two key aspects. We will discuss these differences and also connections to free boundary problems such as spectral minimal partitions and the two-phase Bernoulli problem.
