Abstract

The Hasse-Davenport product relation is an identity involving products of Gauss sums. In this talk we shall introduce a generalization of this classical result for ε-factors defined on a p-adic field. We will then introduce an analog of Shahidi local coefficients for covering groups and discuss the relation between this local factor and the generalized Hasse-Davenport product relation.
