Abstract

Famous for their role in the proof of Fermat’s last theorem, Galois representations are a powerful tool for studying elliptic curves. In this talk, we give an introduction to the topic. Further, we'll discuss recent research on computational aspects and an application to local-global phenomena for elliptic curves.
