Abstract

Inspired by the similarities between the group of units of the finite field $\mathbb{F}_p$ with p elements and the group of $\mathbb{F}_p$-rational points of an elliptic curve, I will give an overview of old and new results pertaining to the cyclicity of the groups defined by the reductions modulo primes of an elliptic curve over $\mathbb{Q}$.

The seminar lasts 80 minutes (9:30am-10:50am).
