Abstract

In it's natural formulation Schanuel's Conjecture is a $\Pi^1_1$-sentence. We show there is an equivalent $\Pi^0_3$-sentence. The key to the proof is work on J. Kirby on natural pregeometries in exponential fields. Most of the talk will be devoted to explaining Kirby's work.
