Abstract

Restriction varieties are subvarieties of orthogonal flag varieties defined by rank conditions with respect to a flag satisfying certain tangency conditions with respect to the relevant symmetric bilinear form. In this talk I will introduce restriction varieties without assuming any background on them and go over some examples illustrating a resolution for their singularities.
