Abstract

In this talk I will explain various conjectures about the distribution of rational points on algebraic varieties, and illustrate them using concrete examples. I will also explain several classes of examples where these conjectures have been verified. This talk is based on joint works with Alex Gorodnick, Joseph Shalika, and Yuri Tschinkel. I will try to make the talk accessible to first year graduate students.
