Abstract

We will prove the existence of moduli space of elliptic curves and show that it is not a fine moduli. Assuming the existence of the moduli space of curves $\mathcal{M}_g$ ($g\geq 2$) we will calculate it's dimension using first order deformation and check it for lower genus curves.
