Abstract
For the purpose of birational classification of projective varieties, the minimal model program/conjecture (Mori's program) aims to construct a good representative in the birational class of a given variety. The MMP is established for varieties of general type by BCHM. For the remaining cases, we show that the MMP (with abundance) can be reduced to the case of varieties of Kodaira dimension zero and the Nonvanishing conjecture.
